This guide will walk you through creating a PayPal app, generating API credentials (Client ID & Secret), and integrating payments into your initiative.
🛠 Step 1: Create a PayPal Developer Account
1️⃣ Go to PayPal Developer Dashboard.
2️⃣ Click Log In or Sign Up (if you don’t have an account).
3️⃣ After logging in, you’ll be redirected to the Developer Dashboard.
🛠 Step 2: Create a New PayPal App
1️⃣ In the dashboard, click on Apps & Credentials in the left sidebar.
2️⃣ Under REST API Apps, click Create App.
3️⃣ Enter an App Name (e.g., "My Payment App").
4️⃣ Select your Business Account (or create one if needed).
5️⃣ Click Create App.
🛠 Step 3: Get API Credentials (Client ID & Secret)
Once the app is created, you’ll be redirected to the app details page:
1️⃣ Under Sandbox / Live, toggle between environments: Sandbox Mode (for testing) Live Mode (for real transactions)
2️⃣ Copy the Client ID.
3️⃣ Click Show next to Secret and copy it.
💡 Keep your Client ID & Secret safe! Never share them publicly.
🛠 Step 4: Use the API Keys in Planrr App
You now have:
✅ Client ID
✅ Secret
Add these these credentials in Planrr App under the initiative settings to process payments via PayPal’s API.
🛠 Step 5: Make a Test Payment (Sandbox Mode)
1️⃣ Use Sandbox test accounts (found in Sandbox → Accounts in the dashboard).
2️⃣ Make API calls to PayPal Checkout using your credentials.
3️⃣ Once testing is complete, switch to Live Mode in Step 3.
If the initiative's goal is not met within the specified time frame, the app provides options to extend the contribution period or make adjustments to the target amount.
If the contribution was part of a group activity or shared expense, notify the relevant recipients or group members mostly Admin about the incorrect amount. Further always double-check your contribution details before confirming any payments to avoid similar errors.
To confirm a pending contribution (admin or moderator). Open the initiative page, navigate to 'pending', then tap the member name and confirm.
A pending contribution refers to a payment or contribution that has been made and recorded on Planrr by a member of the group but has not yet been confirmed by the treasurer or admin of the group.
Absolutely! The app provides real-time tracking and updates on contributions made by group members. The organizer and participants can view the progress towards the set goal, giving everyone a clear picture of the initiative's financial status.

Getting started is simple and user-friendly!
Follow these steps:
a. Register an account: Download the app from the app store and sign up for an account. You may need to provide some basic information and set a secure password.
b. Create a group: After registering and creating group, , you can invite participants to contribute. The app may offer options to invite via email, social media, or by sharing a unique link.
c. Create initiative: You can create an initiative within the group. You'll provide details about your initiative, such as the purpose, target amount, and duration of the contribution campaign.
d. Sending money: participants can make contributions using their preferred payment method from the provided options under 'How to send money.
e. Track progress: As contributions start coming in, you can track the progress of your initiative through the app's dashboard. Real-time updates will show you the total amount collected and the remaining balance to reach your goal.
f. Manage initiatives:Once your initiative is successful, you may close it, after which and it will be available as view only.
